OCA Sporting Asia – June 2021 sets the scene for Tokyo 2020

Kuwait City, Kuwait, June 6, 2021: The new Sporting Asia – official newsletter of the Olympic Council of Asia – is ready for download from the OCA website www.ocasia.org.

The latest edition, for June 2021, focuses on the upcoming Olympic Games and turns the spotlight on Asian Games MVP Rikako Ikee, who has battled cancer to qualify for Tokyo 2020.

We also feature just a few of the Asian athletes who have qualified for Tokyo 2020 in a Photo Gallery and report on some of the qualifying events around Asia, including women’s football, taekwondo and rowing.

Sporting Asia Edition 53 continues the countdown to the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September 2022 and other OCA events, while “Inside the OCA” features a new member of the OCA Executive Board and news on other prominent EB members.

In his President’s Message, Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah praises the commitment of the Asian athletes and the behind-the-scenes work of the National Olympic Committees in preparing for the postponed Tokyo Olympics.
