Pakistan NOC completes Tokyo 2020 entry for badminton player Mahoor Shahzad

Lahore, Pakistan, June 2, 2021: The Pakistan Olympic Association reports that badminton player Mahoor Shahzad has secured an invitational place for Tokyo 2020 and will be representing Pakistan at the Olympic Games next month.

The President of the POA, Lt. Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan, has felicitated Mahoor Shahzad on her invitation to the Olympic Games. He has also acknowledged the work of the POA Secretariat and of Wajid Ali from the Pakistan Badminton Federation for scrupulously following the process and completion of formalities. 

The Pakistan Olympic Association has duly informed the IOC and BWF of the acceptance of the invitational place.

Mahoor, 24, is from Karachi and has a career record of 34 wins and 29 defeats in 63 women’s singles matches, according to the BWF, including a 1-1 record in 2021.

Her career record in singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles is 45-47 in 92 matches.
