Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, June 2, 2021: The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan will hold an art competition for children under the age of 14 with the theme being to convey the best wishes to the Kazakhstan athletes bound for the Tokyo Olympics next month.

The competition is entitled "To the Olympics together with the Olympic team of Kazakhstan". Drawings must be on A4 paper in any technique and style portraying the Kazakhstan Olympic team and the country’s Olympic hopes together with a wish to the athletes to do their best in Tokyo.

The competition is timed to coincide with Children’s Day and International Olympic Day which is celebrated on June 23. Entries will be accepted until June 15 with the winner announced on June 23 on the Olympic.kz website and in the NOC's social media accounts.

The wishes of the fans and the best drawings will be reproduced on T-shirts that will become part of the outfit of the Kazakhstan national team at the Olympics.

“The main characters of Olympic Day in our country have always been children - and for good reason; after all, all champions come from childhood,” said Kazakhstan NOC Secretary General Andrei Kryukov.

“This year we are starting the celebration of the International Olympic Day with a children’s competition. This is support for both our young talents and for the Olympic team. As we know, the Games will be held under certain restrictions and, of course, the atmosphere of the Olympics will be completely different without the fans. But we are confident that our team will always feel the support of the Kazakhstanis, especially if this is the support of the youngest fans,” Kryukov added.
