Kabul, Afghanistan, May 26, 2021: The Afghanistan National Olympic Committee has met with Emirates Airlines to discuss a long-term cooperation agreement.
The NOC President, Dr Hafizullah Wali Rahimi, welcomed the Emirates country manager for Afghanistan, Vikram Arora, to NOC HQ in Kabul and spoke about an arrangement for the Afghanistan delegation to attend Olympic qualifying competitions for Tokyo 2020 and the Olympic Games themselves, which start July 23.
The talks also focused on a long-term arrangement between the NOC and Emirates Airlines for the national team athletes and officials to attend international sports events.
The NOC Secretary General, Dr Mohammad Yonus Popalzay, was also in attendance.
Emirates Airlines is the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates and is based in Dubai.
