Bangkok, Thailand, May 26, 2021: One of Asia’s leading sports personalities, Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul of Thailand, has thanked the badminton world for re-electing her as Deputy President of the Badminton World Federation.
Khunying Patama, who is Chair of the OCA Culture Committee and a member of the OCA Executive Board, retained her post unopposed at the 82nd BWF General Assembly on Saturday, May 22.
The President of the Badminton Association of Thailand and IOC Member was among the leading three officials to be re-elected as the BWF demonstrated its stability and continuity through to 2024.
In a Facebook post, Khunying Patama wrote: “I would like to thank you for your trust and confidence in my abilities. I will strive for greater glory of BWF and our beloved badminton.
“With our joining hands and connecting hearts, we can make the impossible possible and bring our sport to new the height in every aspect.”
The Thai official, who is also a patron of the arts, has over 370,000 followers on Facebook.
