Pakistan Olympic Association to spearhead tree planting campaign for Olympic Day 2021

Lahore, Pakistan, May 26, 2021: The Pakistan Olympic Association will organise a tree planting campaign in collaboration with Punjab Daanish School in Mianwali as part of Olympic Day celebrations in 2021.

Muhammad Khalid, POA Secretary General, called on Ahmer Mallick, managing director and chief operating officer of Punjaab Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence Authority, on Monday, May 24 to discuss the campaign.

The initiative is part of the Pakistan Olympic Association’s efforts to pursue the International Olympic Committee’s environmental sustainable campaign where tree planting is a key feature. The Olympic Family of Pakistan is committed to the message of environmental protection.

National sports heroes and medallists will gather at the Punjab Daanish School in Mianwali on Olympic Day which is traditionally celebrated on June 23. The tree planting drive will also take place across Pakistan.

Following the vision of the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for a ‘Clean Green Pakistan’, the Pakistan Olympic Association will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Punjab Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence Authority for tree planting at all its institutions.
