Mongolia NOC presents final Olympic Solidarity scholarship grants to athletes

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, May 14, 2021: The presentation ceremony of the final Olympic Solidarity grants to Olympic Scholarship holders took place at Olympic House in Ulaanbaatar. 

Mongolia has 17 athletes under scholarship through Olympic Solidarity for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.  

They are from archery, athletics, boxing, judo, taekwondo, shooting, weightlifting and wrestling and have received this support for two years. Of the 17 scholarship athletes, three shooters, two wrestlers and one boxer have already qualified for Tokyo 2020. 

There are further big hopes in judo, weightlifting and taekwondo due to Olympic qualification tournaments and confirmations from International Sport Federations. 

All scholarship holders have expressed their full solidarity with Tokyo 2020 regarding the safe and secure organisation of the Olympic Games in July and the success of the worldwide fight by all athletes against the pandemic. 

The final grants were awarded by Mongolia NOC Acting President Ch. Naranbaatar and Secretary-General Ch. Badar-Uugan.
