Singapore NOC announces passing of Olympian Ho Yen Chye

Singapore, April 14, 2021: The Singapore National Olympic Council has announced that Olympic Games judoka Ho Yen Chye has died at the age of 54.

“We are saddened by the passing of Olympian Ho Yen Chye, who died yesterday morning in Jakarta,” Singapore NOC reported on its Facebook page on April 13.

“Mr Ho was the last judoka to represent Singapore when he competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. 

“The former national heavyweight champion won medals at consecutive SEA Games from 1983-1991, including a gold medal at the 1987 edition. He also competed at the 1990 Beijing Asian Games and finished seventh.

“Our deepest condolences to Mr Ho's family. May he rest in peace.”
