Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, April 12, 2021: The First Vice President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, Batbold Battushig, paid a visit to Dundgobi province in the Gobi Desert.
The IOC Member made a financial contribution to the region’s sports and medical services, including the local hospital.
The Mongolia NOC VP was accompanied by Rio 2016 Olympic boxing lightweight (57-60kg) bronze medallist, Dorjnyambuu Otgondalai, who is a member of the NOC Executive Board, as an athlete representative.
Dundgobi Aimag is the middle segment of the Gobi Desert. Dundgobi Aimag has an area of 74,700 square km and a population of 51,300. The administrative centre is the town of Mandalgobi at an altitude of 1,393 meters above sea level in the vast open steppe, 260km from Ulaanbaatar.
