OCA appoints new Education Committee Chair

Kuwait City, Kuwait, April 8, 2021: The Olympic Council of Asia has appointed His Royal Highness Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia as the new Chair of the OCA Education Committee.

HRH Prince Fahad bin Jalawi succeeds HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal Al Saud as Chair of the OCA Education Committee for the remainder of the term 2019 to 2023.

HRH Prince Abdulaziz, who is President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, resigned his position as OCA Education Committee Chair on being appointed OCA Vice President in relation to Riyadh’s hosting of the 22nd Asian Games in 2034.

Upon the recommendation of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, the OCA has nominated HRH Prince Fahad bin Jalawi as the new Chair of the OCA Education Committee. This was proposed to the OCA Executive Board members and approved on March 4, 2021.

“The OCA welcomes HRH Prince Fahad as Chair of the OCA Education Committee to the OCA family and wishes him all the best in his endeavours,” said the OCA President, HE Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, in a circular dated April 7 to the Presidents and Secretary Generals of the OCA’s 45 National Olympic Committees and to the OCA Executive Board members.

“We are confident that HRH Prince Fahad bin Jalawi will carry on the great work of his predecessor, HRH Prince Abdulaziz, in leading the OCA Education Committee at this time of major change in the education and learning field, especially in the growth of e-learning in society throughout the world.”
