Chairman of the 5th AIMAG Executive Committee Dayanch Gulgeldiyev underlined the importance of hosting the Ashgabat 2017 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Games in Turkmenistan at the Sport Congress held at the Ashgabat’s Institute of Sport on Saturday.
The Congress was presided by Mr Komekov Toyly Babayevic, Head of Turkmenistan’s Sport Committee, who presented the Final Declaration of the International Sports Congress, entitled “Asian Games 2017: International Sports Cooperation for Peace and Development” to the attendees.
The declaration was adapted by the United Nations at its 75th General Assembly, and is regarded as the ideal instrument to promote a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, it supports the development of sports and the subsequent friendship and cooperation between nations.
The Congress highlighted the desirability for the development of sport and the establishment of key principles for a healthy lifestyle.
Mr Gulgeldiyev stated: “In accordance with the signing of the declaration, the Ashgabat 2017 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Games, which will take place in our beautiful white marble city in September, will further enhance our country’s image as a nation who strongly backs and promotes sports.
I need to emphasise the contribution of our esteemed President, whose deeds are a true inspiration and a perfect example for every Turkmen, towards the creation of a healthy and prosperous community.” The Ashgabat 2017 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will take place in the Turkmen capital between 17 and 27 September, at the state-of-the-art Ashgabat Olmpic Complex.
