OCM ExCo endorses SEA Games CDM, suspends handball federation

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, March 21, 2021: The 196th Executive Council meeting of the Olympic Council of Malaysia took place on Saturday, March 20 at the Tan Sri Hamzah Arena of the OCM Indoor Sports Complex in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting was chaired by Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of OCM.

Besides the normal proceedings, the main decisions made during the meeting were:

*Endorsement of the appointment of Datuk Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin, President of the Football Association of Malaysia, as Chef de Mission of the Malaysian contingent to the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games Vietnam 2021.

*Suspension of the affiliation of the Malaysian Handball Federation due to outstanding debts owing to OCM.

Present at the meeting were nine members of the OCM Executive Board, Chairpersons of the OCM Legal Advisory, Rules and Discipline Committee, OCM Medical and Anti-Doping Committee and OCM Athletes’ Commission, as well as representatives from the National Olympic Academy, National Sports Council, National Sports Institute and Ministry of Education.

In addition, there were 32 delegates from National Sports Associations of Ordinary Members, 13 delegates from NSAs of Associate Members and 18 observers.
