Hangzhou, China, March 5, 2021: The organising committee of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September 2022 has announced that the first competition venue in the Shaoxing cluster has been completed.
Shaoxing, located 47km from the main Asian Games Village, is one of the co-host cities of the 19th Asian Games. It will host five events – baseball and softball, basketball, sport climbing and volleyball.
The Gymnasium of the Shaoxing Olympic Sports Center, which will host basketball matches, has become the first completed Asian Games project in Shaoxing.
The renovated Gymnasium has a floor area of 72,000 square meters and a seating capacity of 7,755.
It will be one of four venues for basketball, with the other three all in the Hangzhou cluster.
