Sporting brothers enrich Mongolia’s Olympic Library

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, March 18, 2021: The Mongolian Olympic Library has been enriched by the addition of a unique book of sporting memories written by the legendary Chimedbazar brothers.

The book, entitled “Brothers on the horizon of the sporting world”, has been penned by Ch. Damdinsharav and Ch. Nasantogtokh. The brothers presented the first editions of the new book to the President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee, Naidan Tuvshinbayar, and the Secretary-General, Enkhbat Badar-Uugan – both Olympic champions.

The two brothers are from a family of nomadic herdsmen. Chimedbazar Damdinsharav would go on to capture Mongolia’s historic first Olympic bronze medal in wrestling at the Mexico 1968 Olympic Games and later became head coach at Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.

Chimedbazar Nasantogtokh was Chef de Mission of Team Mongolia at Barcelona 1992 as well as judo team head coach at Moscow 1980, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012. He coached Mongolia’s first-ever Olympic champion and first-ever double Olympic medallist, Naidan Tuvshinbayar, the current NOC President.
