Nepalese shooting duo set sights on multiple targets

Kathmandu, Nepal, November 4, 2019: Nepalese shooters Kalpana Pariyar and Shushmita Nepal will have multiple targets in mind when they take part in the 14th Asian Shooting Championship which got underway on Sunday, November 3, in Doha, Qatar.

Pariyar and Nepal have both made the cut for the 13th South Asian Games squad and will be hoping their experience in Doha will enable them to set their sights on winning medals on the home range at the South Asian Games next month.

A good result in the November 3-14 event in Doha could also bring about an added bonus with the Asian Championships doubling up as a qualifying event for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Nepal, who has excelled at home having been crowned the 8th National Games gold medallist, and Pariyar will take part in the 10m air rifle event in the championship.

Nepal Shooting Association Secretary and former chief coach Pradip Khati is accompanying the two women in Qatar.
