Lahore, Pakistan, March 15, 2021: The Pakistan Olympic Association held an Executive Committee meeting in both virtual and physical modes on Saturday, March 13.
The meeting discussed several important matters regarding the Olympic movement in Pakistan and was chaired by Lt. Gen. (Retired) Syed Arif Hasan, President, POA.
Mr. Javed Ali Memon, Director, In-Charge Sports of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), was also invited to attend this meeting.
The agenda included the model constitution for Provincial Olympic Associations and the Islamabad Olympic Association; elections of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad Olympic Associations; the hosting of the 14th South Asian Games in Pakistan; and joint ventures of the POA and Higher Education Commission for sports and educational programmes.
The previous day, March 12, a meeting between the POA and HEC was held at Pakistan Olympic House in Lahore to discuss various avenues for the promotion of sports and educational programmes.
The meeting was jointly chaired by Mr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, Secretary General, POA, and Mr. Javed Ali Memon from the HEC.
The POA was represented by Mr. Muhammad Shafiq, Treasurer, POA; Mr. Muhammad Jahangir, Deputy Secretary General, POA; Mr. Ahmad Ali Rajput, Associate Secretary General, POA; Mr. Parvaiz Ahmad, Secretary General, Pakistan Gymnastics Federation; and Mr. Usman Ahmed, Member, POA Education Commission.
Representatives of HEC and Directors of Sports Universities were: Mr. Muhammad Arshad Sattar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad, Ms. Sumera Sattar, Rana Amjad, Dr. Tariq Ali Gujar, Ms. Tahira Saleem, Ms. Abida Khan, Mr. Anwar Hussain, Mr. Masood Kasi, Mr. Muhammad Mushtaq, Mr. Abdul Ghafar and Ms. Humaira Mughal.
