Saudi Arabia NOC congratulates IOC President on re-election

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, March 15, 2021: HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (SAOC), has sent a letter of congratulations and best whishes to Dr. Thomas Bach on his re-election as IOC President.

HRH Prince Abdulaziz, who is a Vice President on the OCA Executive Board, sent an official communication on behalf of the Olympic family in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland.

HRH commended President Bach for the successful journey over the past eight years since becoming IOC President in 2013.

He described his leadership as visionary given the great success and profound impact of the Olympic Agenda 2020 reforms package, and this had made all members of the Olympic Movement proud of his achievements and eager to witness the bright Olympic future ahead.

HRH Prince Abdulaziz also stressed the fruitful and strong relationship between the SAOC and the IOC, reassuring the full commitment of the SAOC to remain a trusted partner of the IOC and to all members of the wider Olympic family.

The IOC President was re-elected for a second term by the 137th IOC Session on March 10, taking him through to 2025.
