Singapore, March 10, 2021: IOC Vice President and OCA Executive Board member Ng Ser Miang has paid his respects to veteran sports administrator Milan Kwee, Vice President of the Singapore National Olympic Council, who has passed away aged 74.
In a Facebook post, Mr Ng said: “Dear friend Milan Kwee, you lived a life that is full and rich and with a beautiful family you deeply love.
“Friends from around the world who are saddened by your passing will also celebrate your life and cherish the many great memories.
“We will remember your passion and dedication and the many contributions to sports and society as Vice President of Singapore National Olympic Council, former President of Singapore Taekwondo Federation and senior member of World Taekwondo leadership.
“I recall how proud you were traveling the world supporting the efforts of World Taekwondo in different work from supporting refugees to the latest assignment of advising the transformation of the Indian Taekwondo Federation.”
Malaysian sports administrator Sieh Kok Chi added: “My heartfelt condolences to the family. I met Milan when he was the Chef De Mission of the Singapore Contingent of the KL 2017 SEA Games. He was a dedicated sports leader.”
Fellow SNOC Vice President Jessie Phua, who is also Singapore Bowling Federation President, said: "Sport has lost a strong and committed promoter. Always friendly and helpful, my sporting colleagues and I lost a good partner. On behalf of all the National Sports Associations, we extend our deepest condolences to the Kwee family."
The European Taekwondo Union also paid tribute to Kwee and posted on Facebook: "President (Sakis) Pragalos, the Council and the whole European Taekwondo Family wishes the Kwee Family strength in these difficult times. The memory of Milan Kwee will always live in all of us."
