Tehran, Iran, March 9, 2021: The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran has expressed readiness for signing a Memorandum of Understanding with its Syrian counterpart on developing sports exchange between the two countries.
On a visit to Damascus to celebrate the 50th anniversary of sport in Syria last week, Iran NOC Secretary General Dr. Keykavous Saeidi met with Syrian NOC President Feras Mouala with both parties engaging in fruitful discussions.
Both officials agreed to forge ahead with closer cooperation in sports as well as pursue signing an MOU between Tehran and Damascus.
During the trip, the Iran NOC Secretary General also held talks with Marat Bariev, chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, where the focus was again on bilateral cooperation in sports between the two countries.
