Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, December 23, 2020: The Director of the National Anti-Doping Centre of Kazakhstan, Dr. Maira Bakasheva, held an education seminar for coaches of the Kazakhstan Athletics Federation on Monday, December 21.
The main topic at the seminar was the country’s anti-doping programme. The online seminar was attended by more than 100 coaches from the capital Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent and 14 other regions of the country.
Among the issues discussed were: international sport anti-doping policy; types of anti-doping violations; updated list of prohibited substances and drugs; monitoring programme; sanctions applied to athletes and national federations; and changes in the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of doping.
A separate topic addressed the World Anti-Doping Code 2021 and international standards that will come into effect from January 1, 2021. The main problems and dangers of using biologically active additives in sports was also raised during the one-day seminar.
At the end of the seminar, Dr. Bakasheva fielded questions from the participants discussing in detail various situations where athletes and coaches may face the issue of doping.
This is not the first time such a seminar has been held by the National Anti-Doping Centre of Kazakhstan.
