OCA’s new Sporting Asia celebrates two-year countdown to Hangzhou 2022

Kuwait City, Kuwait, December 15, 2020: The latest edition of the Olympic Council of Asia’s official magazine Sporting Asia is now available to download from the OCA website www.ocasia.org.

The 51st Sporting Asia, for December 2020, highlights the two-year countdown celebrations to the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September 2022.

The 12 pages of coverage on Hangzhou 2022 includes the release of the 59 sport pictograms in 40 sports, the newly-formed sponsors’ club, the “Hi, Asian Games” documentary being produced by organising committee HAGOC in cooperation with the OCA and its 45 National Olympic Committees, stadium focus and promotional posters from the 10 Prestige Partners.

The new magazine also contains six pages of NOC News in Pictures from around the continent, Inside the OCA, OCA Games Updates, four pages of Women in Sport, Asia’s Olympic Era, the Road to Tokyo 2020 and the OCA sports diary.

The front cover is devoted to the mascot for the OCA’s 3rd Asian Youth Games to be held in Shantou, China in November 2021 – Jinfengwa, named after the city flower of Shantou.

The OCA launched Sporting Asia in 2009 to promote the events and activities of the OCA, National Olympic Committees, games organising committees and other stakeholders in the Olympic movement. It is published quarterly.
