Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, December 10, 2020: Kyrgyzstan marathon runner Maria Korobitskaya won a ticket to the Tokyo Olympics after winning gold at the Tashkent International Marathon in Uzbekistan on Sunday, December 6.
Korobitskaya finished the women’s marathon race in a time of two hours 26 minutes and 42 seconds to secure a berth at the re-scheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympics next year.
She will join compatriots Yulia Andreeva and Darya Maslova in the women’s marathon at the Olympic Games.
Korobitskaya is the sixth Kyrgyzstan athlete to qualify for the Tokyo Games joining Andreeva and Maslova, wrestlers Aisuluu Tynybekova and Atabek Azisbekov and swimmer Denis Petrashov.
