Dushanbe, Tajikistan, December 8, 2020: The Triathlon Federation of Tajikistan has become a member of the Central Asian Triathlon Association (CATA), Tajikistan NOC reports.
The Third Congress of the Central Asian Triathlon Association was held online last Saturday, December 5, and member federations Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan formally accepted a sixth member - Tajikistan.
CATA President Galimzhan Esenov observed: “It is safe to say that the pandemic has not stopped us - and we, the entire triathlon family, have gone through this difficult period.
"We have continued to work to develop and popularise triathlon. Today we have seen the results of our work – we have accepted a new member of the association. The Triathlon Federation of Tajikistan is now with us.”
The members unanimously accepted the Triathlon Federation of Tajikistan - represented by Secretary General Iskandar Sharipov - as a member of CATA.
Members summed up the results of the activities of the association in 2020 and discussed the calendar of competitions for 2021. They also agreed on further cooperation in the development of programmes for the training of athletes, the establishment of a training network, and holding training camps next season.
