Nepal NOC selects Sports for All Committee

Kathmandu, Nepal, December 6, 2020: The Nepal Olympic Committee selected an 11-member Sports for All Committee on Friday, December 4, with Bishnu Gopal Shrestha being re-elected as chairman.

The Sports for All Committee has been recognised as one of the most active committees of the Nepal NOC. The President of Nepal NOC, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, expressed his best wishes on the formation of the committee stating “sport should not only be associated with athletes, it should be part of everyone’s life.”

Chairman Bishnu Gopal Shrestha revealed that more programmes would be organised in 2021 to raise public awareness about sports.

“Sports are needed by all classes. Sports are not limited to the spirit of competition and medal winning. It is also related to the health sector. You can stay healthy by participating in any sport,” chairman Shrestha said.

The committee will make Olympic Day on June 23 a major part of their campaign to promote sport for all.
