Mongolia NOC First Vice President shows charitable spirit

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, December 4, 2020: Mongolian IOC Member Battushig Batbold has been displaying his philanthropic spirit during the hard times of the pandemic at home in Mongolia.

The Mongolia NOC First Vice President helped create the “Battushig and Tselmuun Foundation” in 2018 and, through this foundation, has donated 10 million tugrik (USD 3,500) to the Gurvan Gal maternity home towards the cost of purchasing modern, European technology for infants.

He has also donated 20 million tugrik (USD 7,000) to Songdo Hospital for the charity initiative in providing free heart surgery for children in need - crucial assistance during the pandemic period in Mongolia. 

In another gesture, the IOC Member organised a donation of sportswear to promising young athletes and to coaches in Olympic winter sports in Mongolia to further their advancement.

Mr. Battushig was elected IOC Member at the 136th IOC Session on July 17, 2020.
