Cambodia NOC promotes Olympic values in sporty province

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, November 20, 2020: The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia continues to spread the Olympic values and sports movement around the Kingdom.

The latest stop in their educational campaign was the Chhay Chhop High School in Chbar Mon municipality, Kampong Speu province, where NOC staff led the students in a series of classroom presentations and outdoor fun activities on November 19.

It was all part of the NOC’s Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) and held particular significance as Cambodia prepares to host the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in 2023. It will be the first time for the “Kingdom of Wonder” to organise the regional SEA sports fest for 11 National Olympic Committees.

The NOC said they had chosen Chhay Chhop High School because of the large number of sports venues in the area and the high participation levels in a wide range of sports by the students. This, in turn, will promote the Olympic sports movement and Olympic values while contributing to a healthy and active lifestyle, the NOC said.

The high school welcomed the Olympic Committee and OVEP activities as they combined sport with education and promoted fair play and camaraderie in a fun-filled environment for the students.
