Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 16, 2020: The Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee and G20 Saudi Secretariat will host the NOCs Conference on Tuesday, November 17. The theme of the online event is “The Olympic Movement during and after COVID-19”.

Honoring G20 Saudi Presidency year 2020, the NOCs Conference will be hosted as part of the International Conferences Program and will further the Olympic response to COVID-19.

It will also promote sustainable cooperation among National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and the role of sport in achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

The event will focus on highlighting the crucial role the Olympic movement and sport will play in the social, economic, mental and physical recovery of the international community in a post COVID-19 world.

Chaired by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (SAOC) and Riyadh 2030 Asian Games Bid, with IOC President Thomas Bach as Honorary Chair, the conference has invited representatives from a host of international sports organizations including NOCs of the G20 countries, ANOC, Tokyo 2020, OCA, WHO and WADA.

HRH Prince Abdulaziz said: “We look forward to collaborating with our fellow G20 NOCs and representatives from across the global Olympic Family to highlight how sport and the Olympic Movement can lead our recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Fostering close relationships with other NOCs and sports organizations is a fundamental commitment of SAOC. We understand the importance of knowledge sharing and capability building, and the NOCs Conference will be an invaluable opportunity to share insight and respond collectively to the ongoing disruption.”
