Dhaka, Bangladesh, November 12, 2020: Keeping true to their vision of growing the game to a greater audience within the country, the Bangladesh Rugby Football Union successfully conducted a three-day rugby training and education camp last week in the capital Dhaka.
A total of 31 district officers from all over the country participated in the camp which featured a number of workshops covering topics like coaching children, child protection and safeguarding, club management, basic first aid, strength and conditioning.
Bangladesh RFU provided transportation, food and accommodation for all the participants and also issued training gear including COVID-19 precaution kits. In addition, a further 3,100 face masks were handed over to the district officers to distribute in their respective areas.
Mousem Ali, Bangladesh RFU Secretary, said: “This is our initiative to take the game into each and every district in the country.”
Mahfizul Islam, Bangladesh RFU chief executive, added: “Strong development means we make sure we cover the whole country. We tried to build the communication skills of the participants so that they can pass on the knowledge and experience in their districts.”
At the end of the three-day course, all participants were given a certificate.
