Tashkent, Uzbekistan, November 9, 2020: History was created last week when the first cricket match was played in Uzbekistan.
Watched by top officials from the Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee, the Twenty20 match was played in Tashkent between two of the first teams to have been established in the country – Barlos and Afrosiyob, who met each other in ANFA Tashkent T20 competition.
The Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan was established in November 2019. Over the past few months, two coaches have received training at the Indian Cricket Academy and have now started training youngsters in Uzbekistan.
Along with NOC officials, the game was also witnessed by senior representatives from the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan. Barlos emerged winners.
