SAOC honours first batch of Saudi female Doping Control Officers

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, October 25, 2020: His Highness the Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (SAOC), Prince Fahad bin Jalawi, and HRH Princess Dilayel bint Nahar, Director of Sports and Federations Relations at the SAOC, awarded 30 female trainees with their doping control officer (DCO) certificates on Sunday, October 25.

The certificates were awarded after successfully completing the first women’s training course for Doping Control Officers organised by the Saudi Arabian Anti-Doping Committee (SAADC) under the supervision of the President, Dr Mohammed Salih Alqunbaz, and the Secretary-General, Abdulaziz Almsaad, at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh.

The three-day workshop covered the main topics of detection, awareness and training and included both written and practical exams to obtain the certificate. 

According to the SAADC officials, these DCOs play a crucial role and have a great responsibility that leads to the success of sporting events at all levels.

HH Prince Fahad thanked the trainees for their commitment and progress in obtaining their certificates and wished them all the success in their mission. 

“We are proud of our Saudi women and what they are achieving in this field of sports including at SAADC,” he said.

HH also thanked the SAADC for the developmental steps they have provided that contribute to raising the quality and efficiency of the national capacity to carry out the tasks of doping control, and maintain a clean sports environment, safe and free of doping.
