Nepal NOC holds virtual Executive Board meeting to discuss key issues

Kathmandu, Nepal, October 23, 2020: The Nepal Olympic Committee held a virtual Executive Board meeting chaired by the NOC President, the Hon. Jeevan Ram Shrestha, on Thursday, October 22.

A number of decisions were reached at the meeting, among them that the Annual General Meeting of Nepal NOC will be held on November 12 and that the 3rd National Sports Forum will be staged on November 29. Both events will be held virtually.

The Chef de Mission report on preparations for the Tokyo Olympics was also presented at the Executive Board meeting. This followed a virtual CDM meeting on October 12 which was attended by NOC Executive Director Chaturananda Rajvaidya and Executive Secretary Sujan Lal Shrestha.

The following points came up at the CDM meeting:

(a)  All the delegates participating in the Tokyo Olympics should have a negative PCR test result 72 hours prior to reaching Tokyo;

(b) The International Olympic Committee is working on providing vaccines (if it will be available) to all delegates participating in the Tokyo Olympics.

New NOC financial rules and staff rules were also endorsed by the Executive Board.

Lastly, the National Sports Associations responsible for the success of the 13th South Asian Games held last December in Kathmandu and Pokhara will be awarded with Letters of Appreciation at the upcoming AGM.
