Muscat, Oman, October 22, 2020: A marketing agreement signing ceremony was held on October 21 between the Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) and the Ibtihal Al Zadjali Foundation for Trade and Services.
The agreement is within the framework of the objectives of the OOC Board of Directors to build partnerships with the private sector to enhance cooperation and generate additional income sources to supplement the budget for plans and programmes.
The agreement was signed by Sayyid Khalid bin Hamad Al Busaidi, OOC Chairman, and by the Foundation President, Ibtihal Bint Ghazi Al-Zadjali.
Based on the agreement, the company will market and promote the activities of the OOC and all various programmes as well as managing the activities in coordination with the relevant sub-committees according to the objectives of each committee.
“This will help the OOC to find new finance sources and innovative ideas that serve the goals, especially in light of reducing government budgets in general and the importance of engaging the private sector in supporting the committee’s programmes,” said the OOC Chairman.
“We have selected a company specialised in managing and marketing events to help in this regard, and we wish the company all success in its duties and all OOC sub-committees.”
Ibtihal Al-Zadjali, founder of the Foundation, added: “We are eagerly looking forward to working with the OOC sub-committees and the executive board to implement the targeted programmes and events.
“Despite the challenges that COVID-19 imposes on everyone, we are confident that sports awareness and education programmes must continue with the various available means. Sports activities have become a necessary part of our daily life and they open up new opportunities for creating partnerships with the private sector.”
