Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, October 22, 2020: Kazakhstan Olympic athletes will conduct online physical education lessons for schoolchildren thanks to a joint project between the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan and e-learning website Kundelik.kz which got underway this week.

An agreement on strategic cooperation was signed by the Secretary General of the Kazakhstan NOC, Andrei Kryukov, and the Director General of Kundelik, Mukhtar Ilyasov.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, physical education classes have been moved to the online space in Kazakhstan.

“Given the current situation it is very important to protect the health of ourselves and our children. During distance learning, students spend their daily lives in front of a computer monitor. Decreased physical activity affects the full development of a child. Therefore, the

National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan and our Olympians will provide practical assistance in conducting physical education classes,” said Kryukov.

The Secretary General added: “We often say becoming a champion begins in childhood. Therefore, the decision to launch such a project aimed at the comprehensive development of children’s health is a very important step.

"We thank kundelik.kz for supporting our initiative and hope the joint project will have a positive impact not only among schoolchildren but also among physical education teachers across the country.”

The project includes videos in Kazakh and Russian on physical culture with the participation of the best athletes in Kazakhstan.

“We are very pleased with the strategic partnership with the NOC of Kazakhstan and will make every effort to promote physical culture and sport media content in our country,” said Mukhtar Ilyasov.
