Lausanne, Switzerland, October 19, 2020: The International Skating Union has announced that the 2023 ISU World Figure Skating Championships will be held in Saitama, Japan.
Saitama, which is located around 30km north of Tokyo, boasts the Saitama Super Arena which has been used for volleyball, basketball and also for music concerts.
The ISU calendar also lists Tianjin, China as host of the 2022 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.
A communique from the ISU dated October 16 reads:

Considering the pandemic developments and related impact on the organisers and participants of ISU events, the ISU Council decided to cancel the following ISU Championships:
2021 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, Sydney, Australia
2021 ISU Four Continents Short Track Speed Skating Championships, Salt Lake City, USA
2021 ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships, Calgary, Canada.
The ISU Council decided to provisionally allot the following ISU Championships for the seasons 2021/22 and 2022/23. Allotments for all other 2023 ISU Championships in Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating remain under evaluation and will be decided as soon as possible.
