Tokyo 2020 expected to dominate IOC EB agenda

Lausanne, Switzerland, October 5, 2020: The next step of reorganising the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games next year is set to be the main topic on the agenda of the IOC Executive Board video-conference meeting on Wednesday, October 7. 

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 12 noon local time in Lausanne and run for four hours, with a press conference by the IOC President Thomas Bach penciled in for 5.30pm.

The organising committee and also the Chair of the IOC Coordination Commission, John Coates, will provide an update on Tokyo 2020 and this is expected to include the cost-cutting measures to be implemented before and during the Olympics next summer.

The agenda for the IOC EB meeting also includes: IOC President’s report, International Olympic Summer Sports Federations report, International Winter Sports Federations report, National Olympic Committees report, Athletes report, Anti-Doping report, Legal and Finance report, Good Governance – Ethics and Finance, Activities of the IOC Administration - Director General, Games, Sports and NOCs.
