Iran NOC Sec-Gen assesses university for pre-Olympic sports camp

Tehran, Iran, September 15, 2020: Dr. Kaykavos Saeidi, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a one-day visit to Islamic Azad University in Bushehr Province.

Dr. Saeidi, accompanied by Dr. Amir Abbas Lashgari, Head of the Physical Education Center of the Islamic Azad University, visited the sports facilities and accommodation of this university in the Port of Bushehr on the Persian Gulf coast of south-western Iran.

The Secretary-General stated: “Considering the certainty of holding the Tokyo Olympic Games next year and in order to prepare the national teams of our country's sports delegation, Bushehr Port, due to its similar weather conditions to the host city of Tokyo 2020, is good for holding sports camps to adapt athletes to the climate."

Dr. Saeidi added: “The sports, welfare and accommodation facilities of this center have the necessary standards and good infrastructure; also, having experienced staff at this training center can be a good point for our goal to adapt the biological conditions of athletes who will be going to the Olympic Games."
