Amman, Jordan, September 1, 2020: The Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC) Executive Office has announced that it will extend the stoppage for sport for another week to support the Government’s fight against the spread of Covid-19.
All sporting activity will cease until Sunday, September 6.
The decision was made at an e-meeting of the Executive Board on August 29 due to the increasing numbers of Covid-19 in the Kingdom, and to make sure that sport is a completely safe environment for all involved.
The JOC is cooperating with the Ministry of Health to introduce a raft of new safety procedures to enable sport to restart in as safe an environment as possible.
On August 22, the JOC decided to cease all sports activities for one week starting from Sunday, August 23 in light of the COVID-19 positive cases recorded at one of the clubs in the Jordan Football League.
