Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, August 31, 2020: The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan resumed training camps for all national sports teams from last Friday, August 28.

The operational headquarters of Kazakhstan NOC, which was created to organise and control high-quality training in quarantine conditions, has decided to resume national training camps which will strictly adhere to safety regulations as directed by the medical authorities of the Republic.

Training sessions for all national teams had been suspended since July 1.

“The priorities remain the same – ensuring the safety of all persons who will be involved in the training process,” said the Secretary General of NOC Kazakhstan, Andrey Kryukov.

“The operational headquarters has strengthened control over the observance of sanitary standards at sports facilities. We all want the return of sport but, at the same time, we will continue to comply with all necessary measures to ensure that the most important thing is to protect the health of athletes and coaches,” Kryukov added.

National teams in weightlifting, figure skating, ice hockey, curling, archery, short track speed skating, handball and artistic gymnastics are among the sports who are already undergoing training camps since the suspension was lifted last Friday.

The aim of the national teams is to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics next year as well as prepare for the upcoming winter pre-Olympic season.
