Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 24, 2020: The United Arab Emirates Olympic Committee reports that the National Olympic Academy has completed a series of courses for trainers of the popular Schools Olympic Programme.
The courses were held in seven sports and were conducted online in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and National Sports Federations.
The seven sports in focus were judo, taekwondo, swimming, fencing, archery, athletics and badminton and a total of 516 teachers and coaches took part.
The sessions discussed the importance of choosing the right sport and the appropriate scientific methods to enhance and build on the natural talent to reach the full potential of an athlete both physically and technically.
Course lecturers also pointed out the need to design and prepare scientific training programmes based on a player’s capabilities, potential, future levels of technical preparation and increasing the level of competition.
