Kabul, Afghanistan, August 24, 2020: The President of the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee, Dr. Hafizullah Wali Rahimi, handed out certificates at the end of a three-day handball workshop.
The workshop focused on the training of handball referees and was conducted online in cooperation with the Asian Handball Federation.
Twenty local referees took part in the workshop and were presented with certificates on completing the course by the leaders of the Afghanistan NOC.

*The NOC is organising an English language education course for coaches from all Olympic and non-Olympic national sports federations.
The NOC regards English as an important tool in the international sports world and believes coaches will benefit from this course.
Two national team coaches - one female and one male - from every national federation will be invited to join the course, which will be held at the NOC HQ.
The dates for the course will be announced after the closing date for applications via an official registration form from the NOC.
*Afghanistan NOC President Dr. Hafizullah Wali Rahimi, who is also head of the Physical Education and Sports Ministry, and NOC Secretary Dr. Mohammad Yonus Popalzay met with the sports journalists’ council of Khost province to discuss activities and challenges faced by media and athletes.
Dr. Hafizullah welcomed the presence of journalists and then talked about addressing the problems of journalists and athletes of Khost, especially the growth of women's sport in the province, and promised that reforms in Khost sport would be taken as soon as possible.
As a result of the meeting, provincial sports journalists were invited to join a seminar launched for sports journalists.
