Lahore, Pakistan, August 24, 2020: The Pakistan Olympic Association has invited its member national sports federations to send in nominations to select a candidate for the Executive Masters in Sports Organisations Management (MEMOS) programme in 2021.

This programme, which will be supported by Olympic Solidarity through a scholarship scheme, offers a distinctive academic opportunity for a young person who is either working or intends to work for the promotion and development of Olympic values across Pakistan, according to the Pakistan Olympic Association.

The MEMOS programme will teach strategic and financial management, human resources management and leadership, communications and social media management, marketing management and brand equity, sport and event sponsorship among other aspects.

“We would request to nominate a well-qualified individual for the course holding a relevant university degree or having comparable professional experience who should also be prepared to travel as per course requirements,” the POA said.

Other admission requirements include the participant should be working for a sports organisation and be endorsed by their NOC and/or by their sport organisation which should view his or her participation as an investment.

MEMOS is scheduled over the course of one year and consists of three nine-to-12 days residential modules, each dedicated to two to three main subjects, and a three-day final module devoted to the presentation of the participants’ personal project. The final module will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, while other modules will be held in different cities.

Teaching is conducted in either English, French or Spanish. Olympic Solidarity will cover the tuition fee and provide a participation subsidy for candidates who are supported by their NOC and who have been selected to receive an Olympic Solidarity MEMOS scholarship.

The POA said the deadline for submitting nominations is September 7, 2020.
