Taipei, August 18, 2020: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC), in cooperation with the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, is hosting the 2020 International Sports Affairs Training Course through an online platform from August 15-30.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of this highly popular training course among national sports federations of the CTOC.
The 2020 ISATC kicked off via an online education platform, enabling participants to learn from distance despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, CTOC has extended the invitation to its NOC counterparts to take part in English courses. CTOC has received more than 100 international participants from 18 NOCs this year.
In a video message from James Macleod, Director of NOC Relations, International Olympic Committee, he not only encouraged athletes to stay active during the pandemic but also stressed the need for learning innovative techniques, exchanging experiences and adapting management styles.
“This is why it is so encouraging to see that many NOCs have embraced new technologies and found new opportunities to reach out to a wider audience and help them upgrade the skills and know-how of more sports administrators,” he said.
2020 ISATC speakers include former IOC Member Mr. Ching-Kuo Wu, OCA Executive Board member Dr. Kevin Chen and CTOC advisors Dr. Lih-Chyun Sun and Ms. Jacqueline Yi-Ting Shen.
In his opening address, CTOC President Hong-Dow Lin said: “CTOC has successfully cultivated more than 500 ISATC alumni from the previous nine editions. The ISATC alumni have benefitted from the training course and therefore been involved in international sports affairs. We hope to carry on the experiences and continue to inspire more of the young generation to join international sports affairs.”
