Kazakhstan tennis chief appointed ITF vice president

Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, October 8, 2019: The President of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, Bulat Utemuratov, has been appointed Vice President of the International Tennis Federation Board of Directors for the term 2019-2023.

The ITF Board also unanimously reappointed Mary Pierce of France and Mark Woodforde of Australia as the two ITF Board Athlete representatives to serve as Board members for 2019-2023.

René Stammbach of Switzerland was appointed Treasurer and continues in his role as Chairman of the Finance Committee.

Three vice presidents appointed were: Katrina Adams (USA), Bernard Giudicelli (France) and Bulat Utemuratov (Kazakhstan), a returning member in the ITF AGM elections.

ITF President David Haggerty said: “All four senior leaders bring expertise to the ITF Board. René Stammbach and Katrina Adams bring experience from their previous four years as vice presidents, with Grand Slam Chairman Bernard Giudicelli and successful business leader Bulat Utemuratov adding great knowledge from inside and outside the world of tennis.

“These four individuals received the most votes from the AGM for the Board and will assist me as President in implementing our ITF2024 strategy and continuing the transformation of tennis.”

The Board also comprises Nao Kawatei (JPN) and returning member Anil Khanna (IND).
