Dushanbe, Tajikistan, August 11, 2020: Skilled Tajikistan artists Jamshed Juraev and Nasim Negmatov are preparing a gift for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The well-known master craftsmen have begun preparations to paint pictures of a giant panda, the official mascot of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games from February 4-20, 2022.

The artists have decided to create several paintings depicting a panda, a beloved animal of millions of people around the world. As part of the Olympics, they also hope to organise an exhibition and introduce their craft to Beijingers and visitors to the Chinese capital.

A smiling panda, Bing Dwen Dwen, and a walking Chinese lantern will be the mascots for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Beijing. The panda is the Olympics mascot. Bing the Chinese word for ice, shows purity and strength, while Dwen Dwen means sincerity, liveliness and health.

The previous works of Juraev and Negmatov adorn many cultural sites and favourite places of Tajikistan, and indeed in China.
