Singapore, August 10, 2020: The Singapore National Olympic Council joined in the 55th birthday celebrations of Singapore on Sunday, August 9.
“Happy birthday, Singapore,” said a post on the Singapore NOC Facebook page which was accompanied by a video rendition of “This is Home” by a series of athletes from a variety of sports.
The video performance was organised by the Athletes’ Commission of the SNOC and the athletes took it in turn to sing a few words each of “This is Home”.
The athletes came from canoeing, bowling, athletics, basketball, netball, floorball, football, archery, fencing, silat, badminton, rugby, swimming, shooting, table tennis and sailing – illustrating the support of all sports to stay united in these difficult times.
Among the virtual celebrations, Singapore Sports Hub marked the 55th National Day with a 55-minute live show.
