Kathmandu, Nepal, August 9, 2020: The Nepal Olympic Committee has urged all Olympians to register for the Nepal Olympic Association which is set to be revived next month.

The Nepal Olympic Committee last week issued an announcement which stated that the country’s Olympic Association, which represents all Olympians in Nepal, would be activated after elections tentatively scheduled for late September/early October.

The NOC called for athletes who have participated at both Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics to send in their applications through email. The closing date for registration is September 19.

Earlier, weightlifter Sunil Lal Joshi, who took part in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, was the President of the Olympic Association. But after he passed away in 2017 the Olympic Association became inactive. The NOC wants to revive the body.

Nepal has competed in 12 Summer Games and four Winter Games. The Himalayan country has yet to win an Olympic medal.
