Phnom Penh, Cambodia, August 7, 2020: The Cambodia Southeast Asian Games Organising Committtee (CAMSOC) held a 1,000 days countdown ceremony on Friday.
Cambodia will stage the 11-nation regional sports extravaganza for the first time in 2023 followed by the ASEAN Para Games. It will be the 32nd edition of the SEA Games, which began in 1959, and the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence and President of CAMSOC, addressed the participants while he was presiding over the launch of the 1,000 day countdown ceremony.
The event also included the announcement of the logo-mascot winners for the ASEAN Para Games 2023 and 2023 SEA Games.
The ceremony was held at the new Morodok Techo National Stadium on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, which will be the hub of the SEA Games.
The 31st SEA Games will be in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2021.
