New Delhi, India, August 6, 2020: Reigning women’s world badminton champion PV Sindhu is back in the gym - and delighted to share this news with her millions of fans at home and around the world.
The Indian star took to Twitter and wrote: “Happy to resume full-fledge gym session after a long time…….feelsgreat#gymsession.”
The Indian Home Ministry on July 29 issued ‘Unlock 3’ guidelines, removing restrictions on the movement of individuals during the night and allowing yoga institutes and gymnasiums to open from August 5.
The coronavirus pandemic has had a huge toll on sports across the globe, with several events being postponed or cancelled. The Badminton World Federation on July 29 cancelled four tournaments in Asia - Taipei Open, Korea Open, China Open and Japan Open.
PV Sindhu, 2016 Rio Olympics silver medallist, also warned fellow Indian athletes to prepare to compete without spectators when sports events return in the country.
“We should get used to playing without spectators, empty stadiums,” Sindhu was quoted by the Jagran Sports Desk. “That will happen”.
